KRISHNA MEMORIAL TRUST
The Krishna Memorial Trust was registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 on 22nd February, 1988 with one of the major objectives to run, establish, promote, develop and assist the provision of education through universities, colleges, research Laboratories or institutes existing solely for educational purpose. The board of trustees and advisors include leading educationists and scientists of international repute.
In the year 2008 the board of trustees decided to promote and develop a research institute in the field of pharmaceutical sciences for the promotion and development of pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare sector in the fast developing Uttarakhand region of North India.
The aim of the institution will be to provide highly trained professionals to Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Biomedical industry and the healthcare sector in the country specially in Uttarakhand.

Vision And Mission
Global Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (GIPER), a premier institution in the field of pharmaceutical sciences aims at fulfilling the emerging need of the society and country to make India a world leader in pharmacy. GIPER also aims to promote training programs for professionals through which the students would be made ready for future endeavors.

The institute is under the leadership of Dr. A. K. Saxena, chief scientist and former deputy director of CDRI, Lucknow. The institute is blessed to be in the hands of such competent personality and he has always been a driving force for the staff.
Dr. A. K. Saxena is the pioneer of Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD) in India and is regarded as the father of QSAR, a very novel technique in the field of drug discovery.
Dr. A. K. Saxena did his PhD from Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow under the supervision of Dr. Nitya Anand who recently was awarded “Padma Shri”. He was the recipient of Alex. V. Humboldt Fellowship.
Dr. Saxena has a research experience of 39 years in Medicinal Chemistry. His expertise in the field can be gauged by the tremendous research output:

Dr. A. K. Saxena commitment to excellence, vision and organizing ability has played a decisive role in shaping the institute to its present state. Dr. A. K. Saxena has contributed to education and professional education at the national level. He was the member of Expert Committee, Govt. of India, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, New Delhi. He was also a member of IND Committee, Directorate General of Health Services, Office of Drugs Controller General (India).
Dr. Saxena’s contributions to education have been recognized nationally and internationally. He received a number of awards and honors in recognition of his community service.
